Kick Butts ~ Quit Smoking Essential Oil Blend

I know I posted weeks ago I was going to quit smoking. I admit, I dragged my feet and proscrastinated like any smoker of 42 years would do. I finally began to wean off two weeks ago, cutting down from a full pack to a half pack a day. I FINALLY make black pepper oil blend to help me quit.. I added equal amounts of Black Pepper, OnGuard and Fractionated Coconut Oil. I put in in a 4 ml rollerball bottle but you can use whatever works best for you. I named my quit smoking blend “Kick Butts”. I put a dab here, a dab there… wave it under my nose and inhale. There are moments I have held it in my hand like a pacifier. Use it however it works best for you. I am glad to report today begins day 4 of no smoking. Not one cigarette! I wonder if it is too early to be called a non-smoker. How long do you have to go without smoking to be considered part of that elite club!. 4 days seems like it is much to early to be officially called a non-smoker. I could easily relapse and have to start over again. The longer I go though, the easier it is. That does not mean the thought does not enter my mind because if surely does. But, the more time that passes, the easier it is to “just say NO’ and distract my mind on to something else.

If you are still smoking, I urge you to stop now!! I am not going to repeat all the ill effects of smoking because we know what they are. Turmeric Paste and Golden Milk

I just made some Turmeric Paste. I haven’t make it in a while, so I was excited to get started. I found a new recipe that I really like over at Where is my Spoon? I came upon it as I was searching for a new recipe to use that incorporated ginger and cinnamon. Since I am a diabetic, I thought adding these ingredients would be very beneficial. This recipe was perfect and also called for nutmeg. You can find the recipe here. I tweaked it just a bit and added extra ginger. It was perfect! I love it in my Golden Milk.!

For my Golden Milk I used Coconut Milk, a tsp of Turmeric Paste, and orange organic honey. It was delicious. I love when I find a “keeper” recipe. The next time I make it I may add a bit more cinnamon. That is what is nice about recipes, you can tweak them to fit your taste and make them your own.

I am sure you have been reading a lot about Turmeric. It initially caught my attention because it is anti-inflammatory, helps with concessional stiff joints and can be effective in controlling blood sugar. It has many other benefits as well.  Tumeric paste is made with black pepper.Black pepper, which contains piperine,, had been found to increase the benefits of turmeric. Many studies have been done as to the benefits of Turmeric and Turmeric Paste. Make sure and do your research.  Foods can interfere and have side effects with medication, so make sure and check with your doctor if you have any concerns.
